Module 4

The aims of this module are:

  1. To describe a range of classroom behaviours which disrupt teaching and learning.
  2. To offer an incremental and staged approach to managing behaviour in your classroom.
  3. To highlight the importance of using a positive and assertive approach to behaviour management.
  4. To introduce the concept of Behaviour Recovery.

School context

Successful schools deal with behaviour as part of a wider school improvement plan. Effective teaching around an appropriate curriculum that motivates pupils, enables them to achieve and meets individual learning needs is, of course, the best behaviour management strategy. Whole school behaviour policies that support classroom teachers and make sense to all (including pupils and parents) need to be an integral part of such successful schools
